Understanding Band Instrument Rentals: RENT-TO-OWN Policy
Rent-To-Own Policy (Band and Full-Size String instruments): All band instruments and Full-Size String Instruments are Rent-to-Own. 100% of the monthly Rental Fee applies to the balance of the instrument for the duration of the Agreement. (This is referred to as *Earned Credit.)
You are not obligated to buy your rental instrument. If, at anytime, you wish to terminate your contract you must contact Leonards Music directly. Your child's school is not a party in your rental agreement. Leaving your instrument at the school without notifying Leonards Music will not close your contract. You will remain responsible for all payments until your instrument is returned to Leonards Music.
(Full size strings include: 4/4 Violin, 15.5+ inch Viola, 4/4 Cello, 3/4 or 4/4 Bass, and 3/4 or 4/4 Guitar)
*Earned Credit:Each month, 100% of your rental fee (minus tax and insurance) is applied to the Earned Credit which is used toward owning your instrument.
Earned credit applies exclusively to the instrument on your current contract.
It is non-transferableand there is no actual dollar value. Contract termination will result in the forfeit of all earned credit.
Early pay-off options are also available, please email us or contact our office for more information.
-
50% of your rental fee is applied as Earned Credit toward a full-size instrument while you are actively renting a fractional-sized string instrument.
-
Earned Credit accumulation will pause once the full retail value of your current fractional instrument is reached. If you size up to a larger fractional instrument of greater value, credit accumulation will resume.
-
You may exchange your instrument for a larger size at any time during your active rental at no additional charge.
-
The following are considered full-size string instruments:
-
Violin: 4/4
-
Viola: 15.5" and above
-
Cello: 4/4
-
Bass: 3/4 or 4/4
-
Guitar: 3/4 or 4/4
-
-
Any instrument smaller than the sizes listed above qualifies as a Rent-to-Rent contract.
-
Once your child transitions to a full-size instrument rental, 100% of your ongoing rental payments will be applied as Earned Credit toward ownership.
-
You may choose to:
-
Use your accrued credit to purchase the instrument, or
-
Allow the rental contract to continue until the instrument is paid off in full.
-
-
There is no obligation to purchase. You may return the instrument at any time during your rental term.
-
Please note:
-
Earned Credit is specific to the instrument on your current rental contract and is non-transferable.
-
Earned Credit has no cash value.
-
Terminating the contract will result in the forfeiture of all accrued credit.
